Addison Homes recieves certified aging-in-place designation
Todd Usher of Addison Homes, LLC has been designated a Certified Aging-In-Place Specialist (CAPS) by The National Association of Home Builders, making Addison Homes one of only four homebuilders in South Carolina to employ a CAPS professional.

The CAPS designation signifies the completion of specific training in "Universal Design" for new homes, which focuses on knowledge and skills specific to home building and modifications for older adults and those with disabilities. The CAPS program was developed to help construction professionals meet the needs of 77 million Baby Boomers that will reach retirement age in the first years of the 21st Century. The program trains builders and remodelers to help older adults remain in their homes safely, independently and comfortably throughout their maturing years. The CAPS curriculum includes background on the older adult population, common aging-in-place remodeling projects, and communication and marketing techniques.

CAPS designees are required to maintain their certifications by attending continuing education programs and participating in community service projects. For more information on Aging-In-Place, contact Addison Homes at 864.848.2667 or visit
